Bunkhouses

In Betws Y Coed there are a number of bunkhouses, each has its own style and advantages depending on your needs.

TheGlan Aber Hotel  just two doors down from our shop has a bukhouse, popular with groups of cyclists, the hotel bar and restaurant facilities can be used, it also has a secure bike lockup.

Another hotel that has suprior bunkhouse accommodation is the Royal Oak, and once again bars and restaurant facilities are available, along with a bike wash.

A very popular backpacker type of bunkhouse is the Vagabond, this has its own bar with great home cooking and secure bike lockup.

For school groups and colleges the Woodlands is a great site, just 150mtrs from our shop it can accommodateup to 35 in dormitory style rooms with drying facilities, the whole building can be hired for your group.

Hafod farm lies in the Heart of the Conwy Valley in Northern Snowdonia.

Just Northwest  of the village on the A5 stands the Swallow Falls complex, this is a YHA Hostel with traditional hostel facilities plus campsite and bars and restaurant.

South of Betws Y Coed on the A470 is the Lledr Bunkhouse an interesting old timber building that used to be in the YHA  but is now an independant hostel.

On the A5 near Capel Curig is a new superior style bunkhouse the Siabod Longhouse is ideal for clubs as the whole bulding can be hired, it is within walking distance of the Tyn y Coed hotel.

The village of Penmachno is the location of  The Eagles a very popular and highly reviewed bunkhouse which is also a CAMRA pub. The first Wednesday of every month there is an open mike night! Secure lockup for bikes is also available. Pizzas can be ordered from The Conwy Falls Cafe  and delivered.

Further afield on the way to Llandegla 15km South of Betws Y Coed on the A5 in Cefn Brith there is Tyddyn Bychan, this is convenient for the White Water rafting near Bala and for the cycling in both Betws y Coed and Llandegla.

Near Beddgelert is Craflwyn Basecamp a National Trust property and lovely bunkhouse in converted stables in Craflwyn Hall

Further east than Betws Y Coed is Llangollen Hostel.  With walking trails, canoeing and climbing, Llangollen Hostel is a great place to stay the night
