There is a gentle climb all the way to the Rest and be Thankful café at the far end from where the road descends back to West Shore. The views of sea cliffs and coastal scenery are spectacular. Along the way you may see cars, motor bikes walkers, runners, other cyclists, sea birds, limestone cliffs, climbers, boats, mountains, wild flowers, butterflies, sheep, rabbits and goats   . If you are lucky and know where to look you may see seals and dolphins.  Watch out for falling rocks and stones on the road.

The ride takes you along West shore to West Shore café and returns along Gloddaeth Avenue, a wide but busy main road

An optional extension leads from Marine Drive up the ‘zigzags’, past the church and cemetery and to the summit (return by the same route)  This is very steep and is only recommended for experienced  cyclists or E bikes.
