Cycling on the West Shore promenade is not strictly permitted but the adjacent road is wide and not busy. The route follows a designated signposted cycle route on shared use pavements next to busy roads with some areas where it is advised to dismount and walk.

Travelling across the town the route takes quieter roads through residential areas of housing and parks in the area of Craig y Don. Again the route is signposted onto the promenade on North Shore near the paddling pool and café.  This open, wide Promenade is shared use with pedestrians, dogs, sailing boats, wheel chair users, and other cyclists and care is needed to negotiate your way safely .
