Big Tour, Favourite Day ride for Ebikes
This is a Long Day ride, most suited for Ebikes. Consisting of 4 main climbs, the first half of the first climb is on a quiet road. The second half of the first climb is on a long forest ramp that takes you above Penmachno village. The second climb is short and steep in the Lledr valley, the third climb is long and gentle travelling up the Penamner valley.

There is a Spar shop in Dolwyddeln with outside undercover seating, after this is the 4th main climb up a Bridle way into the forest above Dolwyddelan.
After leaving the forest the ride takes you out on to open moor lands below Moel Siobad. This is a beautiful section. From here there is a tricky descent down into Capel Curig, some people will have to walk the bike on the this short 200metres. It can be tricky to walk this section due to damage caused by 4x4 cars.
After this is a quite road to the Ugly house café followed by a short off road ride through the forest and then a fun descent on a quiet road back to Betws.
This ride should not be chosen if you cannot self-repair a bike tyre puncture as some areas are very remote and it would be a long push back to Betws. If repairing a puncture on an Ebike take care not to damage the handle bar controller on the ground when inverting the bike.
Duration depends on fitness levels and the size of group. Large groups tend to move slower.
Bikes come equipped with Spare Inner tube /repair kit and map. Please return after use.
Garmin Satnav is available for hire to make navigation easy or a GPX file can be emailed if you want to use your own bike computer or phone.
