This is a relatively easy ride as there is more Downhill than Uphill riding. The ride can be started from Joe Browns at Capel Curig or Ogwen Cottage for a very easy and relaxing journey down to Porth Penrhyn on the coast. Video of ride Here!

Bikes can be delivered to either starting point and then collected at the end of the ride. 5 bikes and riders can be transported easily to the start and collected at the end of the ride, and then return all back to the start again.

More riders than this will require special arrangements with Taxis or returning nominated drivers back to the start to collect cars etc. Additional costs will be incurred due to fuel costs and Drivers time.

If starting from Ogwen Cottage the ride is almost entirely Downhill which means this ride is not really suitable for Electric Bikes. The route follows the old slate Train gravity route from the Quarries to Porth Penrhyn. Trains would run down to the coast entirely by gravity.

Duration depends on the size of the group. Large groups tend to move slower.

Although the ride my take only half day the bikes are charged at a full day rate as the delivery/collection driver is tied up for the whole day.

Bikes come equipped with Spare Inner tube /repair kit and map. Please return after use.

Garmin Satnav is available for hire to make navigation easy or a GPX file can be emailed if you want to use your own bike computer or phone.
