2 Lakes, Favourite half day ride for Ebikes

Two Lakes, Llyn Crafnant  +  Llyn Geirionydd. This is a favourite route for half day Ebike rides. There are 3 big climbs which the Ebikes handle very well. This is a favourite route for half day Ebike rides.

Route 7a Photos

There are 3 big climbs which the Ebikes handle very well. Sometimes this is treated as a day ride on Ebikes as riders take an extended time at Llyn Geirionydd for picnics and a bit of swimming.

The ride out of Betws is on an uphill single-track Tarmac Road, normally very little or no traffic.

The first lake (Llyn) is a sporting lake for swimmers and paddleboarders. From this lake there is a big climb up and then down to Llyn Crafnant. On Llyn Crafnant there is a café which is normally open at weekends during the Summer.

This lake is circumnavigated, at the far end there is a short distance on a footpath where the bike should be pushed. After riding around lake Crafnant there is a big climb back towards Llyn Geirionydd on the same track you arrived on, but not returning completely to Llyn Geirionydd. The route now crosses a cattle grid and rides back towards Betws through the Forest. Eventually re-joining a single-track road back to Betws which is the same as the road already ridden on the way out.

There is 1 cafe on this route. Open at weekends only.

Duration depends on fitness levels and the size of group. Large groups tend to move slower.
